It is extremely effective and it works relatively fast but is only for people with very bad acne. If you have been prescribed more than 2 types of acne treatment, you should be eligible for an Accutane prescription. That is if you can find a dermatologist to give you one. Accutane will make you acne free in two months. Not just acne free but also your skin will look perfect. Coming from someone who suffered from very bad acne this was a dream come true. Sounds Great! Not so fast…the side effect list of this drug is long and patient involvement includes monthly blood tests and mandatory birth control.
The side effects list of Accutane could go on forever. The side effects I experienced were redness, severe peeling, severe peeling of lips, massive sun burning, mild depression! This drug is powerful! It is only prescribed to people with very bad acne. I have taken Accutane twice. My acne was so severe it came back a few years later after taking my first does of Accutane.
If you decide to go with Accutane do not pick your face. I know everyone says don’t pick and most people do it anyway. I always picked my face.
