For cystic acne I had a lot of success with Retin-A. It works very well on body acne. The side effects were relativity harsh. It thinned out my skin, redness, peeling, and you must stay out of the sun. However, I did get great results in a few weeks.

Spot Treatment

For occasional breakouts a spot treatment is key for obtaining acne free skin. Whiteheads are best treated with spot treatments. I had no luck treating blackheads with spot treatment.
